Our Mission

The mission of the Hāli‘imaile Community Garden is to build community around food self-sufficiency. Through collective effort in our beautiful, harmonious setting, gardeners reconnect with the land, their neighbors and the pleasures of home-grown bounty. Plots are available for Upcountry Maui residents for an annual fee of $50 which helps to cover the water costs (effective Jan. 1, 2009).

Come Grow With Us!

The Hāli‘imaile Community Garden started in 2006 and is still growing - plots are available for new members interested in producing their own organic food and joining a community keen on working together to make the garden a beautiful, productive place.

Experience or a "green thumb" not required; just a desire to be more self-sufficient, work collectively with other gardeners and an appreciation for the pleasures of turning hands to the soil.

Member orientations are held once per month by a garden volunteer, generally on the first or second Saturday morning of the month. Please check the Events section for more information.
